MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | No. 3 Flagler College recorded a 7-0 victory in the Peach Belt Conference men's tennis opener over Georgia College & State University Friday (March 29) afternoon at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts.
The Saints improved to 11-2 overall and to 1-0 in the PBC, while the Bobcats fell to 4-9 and 0-1. GCSU returns to action Tuesday (April 3) with a 2:30 p.m. PBC match against Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia.
Jorge Robinson and
Braxton Wright extended their singles matches to three sets. Robinson won the first set at No. 1 singles against Flagler's Jacopo Denitto, who is ranked No. 10 in singles nationally, 6-3, before Denitto took the second set 6-4. Denitto outlasted Robinson 12-10 in the super tiebreaker to earn the point. Wright took the first set 6-3 at No. 6 singles dropping the second 6-1. Wright lost the super tiebreaker 11-9.
