MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | No. 24 Auburn University at Montgomery defeated Georgia College & State University 7-0 on Senior Day Friday (April 19) afternoon at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts.
The Warhawks improved to 13-8, while the Bobcats fell to 4-13. GCSU faces No. 8 University of North Georgia in a 1 p.m. Peach Belt Conference match Saturday (April 20) in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Prior to the match, the Bobcats recognized their three seniors -
Sebastian Nuñez,
Jorge Robinson and
Enzo Sergi.
Rodrigo Pérez Crespo and
Noé Villen took a 7-6 (7) win at No.1 doubles, but the Warhawks won the other two doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Sergi and
Braxton Wright went to a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles, but lost 11-9.
AUM won each of the six singles matches. Nunez lost both of his sets at No. 6 in tiebreakers - 7-6 (5) and 7-6 (6).
