McCORMICK, S.C. | Georgia College & State University wrapped up its first men's golf tournament of the season Tuesday (Sept. 10) afternoon.
The Bobcats fired a final round of 311 in the Bearcat Fall Invitational hosted by Lander University to finish in 18th place with a 54-hole score of 898. No. 2-ranked University of North Georgia won the event with a tally of 836, seven strokes clear of No. 4 University of West Florida.
Browning Benton was the top GCSU golfer in the field as he tied for 64th place after an 81 on the par 72, 7,032-yard layout on the Monticello Golf Club gave him a three-round score of 223.
Billy Goddard had a scorecard with a 79 and finished in a tie for 70th at 224, while
Chase Blanton tied for 84th after an 81 in the final round.
Ty Darsey fired the low round of the day with a one-over par 73 and finished in a tie for 89th place, while
Jackson Ellerbee plosted a 78 and finished in a tie for 97th.
The Bobcats return to action Sept. 23 when they travel to Gainesville, Georgia, for the Mizuno Intercollegiate hosted by the University of North Georgia.
