Bobcats shoot 289 on final day of Mizuno Intercollegiate

GAINESVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's golf team shot an one-over par round of 289 in the final round of the Mizuno Intercollegiate hosted by the University of North Georgia Tuesday (Sept. 24).

The Bobcats moved up two positions on the final day to complete the 54-hole event at 887.

Billy Goddard was the top GCSU golfer in the field as he tied for 48th place at 219 after posting his second consecutive two-under par round of 70 on the par 72, 7,166-yard layout on the Chattahoochee Golf Club. Matthew Rogers had the low round of the tournament for the Bobcats with a three-under par 69 on the third trip around the course and he tied for 52nd place at 220. Andy Scott posted his second consecutive 73 and moved into a tie for 58th place at 222. Chase Blanton tied for 80th at 230 as he signed for a 77 in the final round, while Browning Benton carded a 77 and finished in a tie for 84th place at 232.

GCSU returns to competition Monday (Sept. 30) when they travel to Greenville, South Carolina, to take part in the Bearcat Fall Classic that will be held at The Preserve at Verdae.
