Rodrigo Pérez Crespo has been named the Player of the Week by the Peach Belt Conference.
The junior from Ourense, Spain, went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles for the 50th-ranked Bobcats in wins over Young Harris College and North Greenville University last week. He defeated Young Harris' Caleb McCurry 6-4, 6-7 (9-11), 7-6 (7-4) and North Greenville's Christo Timini 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, both at No. 2 singles. He partnered with
Chase Martin to beat North Greenville's Juho Kantola and Will Hernandez 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Crespo Improved to 6-2 in dual match singles this spring and 6-1 in dual match doubles, including a .5-1 ledger at No. 1 doubles with Martin.
The 50th-ranked Bobcats open up Peach Belt play with a 2 p.m. match against No. 37 Augusta University Tuesday (March 11) at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts.
