NINETY SIX, S.C. | The Georgia College & State University men's golf team finished in 11th place at the Lander Invitational hosted by Lander University Tuesday (March 4) afternoon.
The Bobcats completed their suspended second round in the morning on the par 72, 7,054-yard layout on the Patriot Golf Course at Grand Harbor with a 300 before shooting 298 in the final round to finish the 54-hole tournament with a score of 895.
Leading the way for the second consecutive tournament for the Bobcats is
Kam McDaniel. He fired a career-low 69 in the second round before tallying an even-par 72 in the final round to finish in a tie for 21st place at 217. The 217 set a new career-best 54-hole score for McDaniel, surpassing his 218 in the Saint Leo Invitational two weeks ago.
Andy Scott tied his career-best 54-hole score of 220 as he finished in a tie for 32nd place. Scott fired a 74 in round two before also shooting an even-par 72 in the final round.
Jacob Speece carded rounds of 77 and 74 to finish in 57th at 226.
Billy Goddard posted back-to-back scorecards of 79 and finished in 86th place at 233, while
Blane Davis had rounds of 78 and 81 to finish in a tie for 100th at 239.
Wingate University won the team event at 847, while Wingate's Jordan Hyland earned medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 205.
The Bobcats return to action Monday (March 10) when they travel to Valdosta, Georgia, to take part in the Southeastern Collegiate hosted by Valdosta State University.
