ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Flagler College defeated Georgia College & State University 7-0 in a battle of nationally ranked Peach Belt Conference men's tennis teams Friday (April 4) morning at the Pollard Tennis Center.
The No. 2 Saints improved to 13-2 overall and to 3-0 in the Peach Belt, while No. 32 Bobcats fell to 11-3 and 1-2. GCSU returns to the Centennial Center Tennis Courts Tuesday (April 8) with a 2 p.m. non-conference match against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Flagler took a 1-0 lead after winning two doubles matches; however
Chase Martin and
Rodrigo Pérez Crespo were leading 5-4 in No. 1 doubles over No. 29-ranked Ilian Borlee and Simon Malis before the match was halted.
The Saints claimed the six singles matches to clinch the win.
