McCORMICK, S.C. | The Georgia College & State University men's golf team stands in a tie for seventh place after the opening 36 holes at the Savannah Lakes Men's Fall Classic hosted by Lander University Monday (Sept. 8).
The Bobcats carded rounds of 289 and 301 on the par 72, 7,032-yard layout at the Monticello Golf Club to stand at 590 after 36 holes. The University of North Georgia leads the 15-team field with a two-round total of 568, eight strokes clear of Erskine College.
Andy Scott leads the GCSU contingent as he is tied for sixth place at 142 after posting a four-under par 68 - a new career low score - in the morning before registering a 74 in the afternoon.
Matthew Rogers is tied for 30th at at 148 after an even-par 72 and a 76, while
Andrew Lutjens posted a 149 score and is tied for 35th with rounds of 72 and 77.Â
Zach Wiley had rounds of 77 and 74 and is in a tie for 46th place, while
Hank Holcomb is tied for 82nd at 160 after scorecards of 81 and 79.
The 54-hole tournament concludes Tuesday (Sept. 9) with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
