GAINESVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's golf team opened up play at the 2025 Mizuno Invitational hosted by the University of North Georgia Monday (Sept. 15).

It was night and day for the Bobcats on the par 72, 7,166-yard layout at the Chattahochee Golf Club. GCSU struggled in the morning round shooting 17-over par 305 before catching fire in the afternoon round with a one-under par 287. The Bobcats stand at 592 in 12th place. No. 2-ranked North Georgia leads the tournament at 566, six strokes ahead of Lander University.

The top Bobcat in the field is Andy Scott, who is tied for third place at five-under par 139. Scott carded a one-over par 73 in the morning before signing for a six-under par 66 in the afternoon. Scott, who had six birdies without a bogey in the second round, eclipsed his previous low round of 68 that was just set a week ago.

Andrew Lutjens and Matthew Rogers are tied for 47th place at 149 after both golfers shot 76 in the morning and followed that up with one-over par tallies of 73 in the afternoon.
