Jones named Zaxbys Player of the Week

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University men's basketball's C.J. Jones has been named this week's Zaxbys Player of the Week.

Jones, a sophomore guard from Suwanee, Georgia, averaged 16.5 points and 3.0 rebounds as the Bobcats split a pair of Peach Belt Conference games last week. Jones scored 20 points, including 18 points in the second half, as the Bobcats picked up a 71-67 win at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. The Bobcats took the lead for good against the Pacers at 66-64 on a three-pointer from Jones with 2:04 remaining. Jones extended GCSU's lead to 69-64 on another Jones' three-pointer with 25 ticks to secure the win.

The Bobcats open their three-game homestand at the Centennial Center with a 7:30 p.m. PBC contest against Columbus State University Wednesday (Jan. 14).
