MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The University of North Georgia sank four free throws in the final 0.6 seconds to rally for an 80-79 Peach Belt Conference men's basketball victory over Georgia College & State University on Senior Night Wednesday (Feb. 18) at the Centennial Center.

The Nighthawks improved to 17-6 overall and to 11-6 in the PBC, while the Bobcats fell to 15-10 and 10-7. GCSU wraps up its home regular-season schedule Saturday (Feb. 21) when they host Georgia Southwestern State University in a 4 p.m. homecoming contest.
The Bobcats, who trailed by nine points midway through the second half, had opened up a 77-73 lead on a Carpio free throw with eight seconds left. AJ White, who finished with 32 points, hit a three pointer for the Nighthawks with three ticks left to pull within a point.Â
James Nichols III hit two free throws a second later to give GCSU a 79-76 lead. White hit two of three free throws with 0.6 seconds left to pull within a point at 79-78. On the ensuing inbounds pass, the Bobcats turned the ball over as they were trying to throw the ball into the front court over the UNG press. Colin Turner collected the turnover and was fouled with 0.2 seconds left. Turner sank both free throws to give the Nighthawks an 80-78 lead and GCSU was unable to get a shot off.
C.J. Jones led the Bobcats with 16 points, while Carpio and Lynch each tallied 14. Nichols also finished in double figures with 12. Lynch led GCSU with five rebounds, while Nichols had four steals and Jones had six assists and three steals.
