GREENWOOD, S.C. | The Georgia College & State University men's golf team enjoyed their best tournament of the season as the Bobcats came in seventh place at the Greenwood Invitational hosted by Lander University Tuesday (March 10) afternoon.
GCSU shot an even par 288 in the final round on the par 72, 6,800-yard layout on the Greenwood Country Club layout to finish the 54-hole tournament at one-under par 863. Top-ranked Grand Valley State University won the 18-team event with an 844 score.
Andrew Lutjens earned a top-20 finish for the Bobcats as he finished in a tie for 14th place at four-under par 212 after shooting a two-under 70 in the final round.
Jack Hutcheson fired an even-par 72 and finished tied for 31st at even-par 216.
Matthew Rogers carded a 76 and finished tied for 36th at 218, while
Andy Scott signed for a 74 and tied for 46th place at 220.
Chase Blanton and
Hunter Phillips, who was playing as an individual in the tournament, finished tied for 65th place at 224. Blanton posted an even-par 72 in the final round, while Phillips carded a 74.
The Bobcats return to action Monday (March 16) when they host their annual Bobcat Invitational at the Golf Club at Cuscowilla in Eatonton, Georgia.
