MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's and women's cross country, women's soccer and women's volleyball teams are all in action this week.

The soccer team (1-0) will be the lone team in action at home this week as they host the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University at 1 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 5) at the Bobcat Soccer Field. LMU leads the all-time series that dates back to 2008 with the Bobcats 2-1-2. GCSU won the series opener back in 2008 2-1 in Harrogate, Tennessee. The teams battled to a 0-0 draw last season in Chattanooga, Tennessee. GCSU is 0-1-1 against LMU at home. GCSU is entering the game after defeating North Greenville University 5-0 to open the season Aug. 27.

The volleyball (0-4) will travel to Mount Olive, North Carolina, to take part in the Pickle Invitational being hosted by the University of Mount Olive. GCSU will face the tournament host at 11 a.m. and Shaw Univerrsity at 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 4) before taking on Fayetteville State University at 11 a.m. and Coker University at 3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 5). GCSU is 1-1 all-time against Mount Olive, 0-1 against Shaw, and 3-0 against Coker. This will be the first-ever meeting on the volleyball court against Fayetteville State.

The men's and women's cross country teams open their 2026 campaigns Saturday (Sept. 5) morning at the MGA/Julius Johnson Invitational. The event, which will be held at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course, is being hosted by Mercer University. The men's 6K race will start at 8 a.m. followed by the women's 5K race at 9 a.m.
