MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University women's basketball team (11-5, 6-3 PBC) won earlier today (Jan. 24) 78-66 defeating No. 19 USC Aiken (14-5, 6-3 PBC).

The Bobcats are on a three-game winning streak, including two victories over top-25 teams in No. 17 Clayton State University and USC Aiken. In each of those games, the Bobcats won by double digits. Georgia College is undefeated (3-0) against ranked opponents in the 2008-09 campaign.

Georgia College junior guard, Shandrea Moore (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), put forth an outstanding effort earning a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists. Moore was two assists away from tying the GCSU record set by Lindsey Smith last season.

Sophomore Dominique Huffin (Tucker, Ga.) was the leading scorer from either side of the ball with 21 points. Huffin also led the Bobcats with eight boards and her 21 points marks 10 of the last 12 games where she has scored in double digits.

Woodstock native Tiauna Brantley added 10 points for the Bobcats this afternoon. Brantley has recorded double figures in 13-of-16 of the contests this season.

The Pacers of USC Aiken came into the game leading the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) in three-point percentage. Tonight, they were only able to make .357 (5-14) from beyond the arc which was under their .381 season average. The Bobcats hit .500 (10-20) from behind the three-point line.

Georgia College outscored the Pacers in second-chance points 16-8 and also in fast break points 9-0.

Megan Starnes led the USC Aiken Pacers with 17 points, aided by Morgan Johnson's 15 and Kendra Chandler with 10 points.
