MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -With four Bobcats scoring
in double figures the Georgia College & State University
women's basketball team (4-2) defeated Edward Waters College (3-6)
tonight 87-73 in the Centennial Center.
Junior guard Chimere Jordan
(Gray, Ga.) was explosive off the bench as she led all
scorers in the game with 17 points. Jordan also had three assists
and three rebounds. This marks the third game of the season where
Jordan has scored in double-digits and the second in a row.
Antoinette Reames
(Orlando, Fla.) recorded her second straight double-double
of the season with 16 points and 12 boards. The senior leads the
team, averaging 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds a contest on the
2009-10 campaign. Junior Dominique Huffin
(Tucker, Ga.) and senior Candice Clark (Warner
Robins, Ga.) aided Georgia College scoring 14 and 10,
respectively. Huffin and Clark each recorded seven boards as the
Bobcats outrebounded the Tigers 58-50 on the night.
Sophomore Tammeisha Law
(Athens, Ga.) was two points and one rebound shy of a
double-double. Junior Mandi Dudish
(Snellville, Ga.) had a game of threes, scoring three
points, grabbing three rebounds and dishing out three dimes.
Edward Waters had three players in double figures as Tieura
Quick led her squad with 16 points. Marquinta Ridgel followed right
behind with 12 points. Ebony Presha recorded a double-double for
her Tigers with 10 points and 10 boards. Edward Waters hit nine
three-pointers in the second half and shot .400 from beyond the arc
on the night to make the game close.
The Bobcats were able to capitalize offensively outscoring
Edward Waters 38-26 in the paint and 30-16 on second chances.
Georgia College got a tremendous effort from their bench tonight
scoring 42 to counter Edward Waters' 20 bench points. The
'Cats forced 34 turnovers and were able to score 42 points
off those takeaways. Georgia College grabbed 28 offensive rebounds
which is three shy of the school record.
Georgia College travels to No. 23 Lenoir-Rhyne University
Saturday, Dec. 5 with the game at 6 p.m. Lenoir-Rhyne gets their
chance at revenge as the Bobcats won the matchup earlier in the
season 68-67.
