Big Second Half Gives Bobcat Men's Basketball First PBC Win, 71-60

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Georgia College men's basketball team (3-1, 1-0 PBC) out-scored Francis Marion University (2-2, 0-1 PBC) 39-26 in the second half to finish with a 71-60 victory on the road Monday night.

The Bobcats start 1-0 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action, with sophomore Terrell Harris (Indiantown, Fla.) blistering the nets for 21 points. The shooting guard got it done with volume, making 9-of-26 from the floor, and adding nine boards to the game's effort.

Classmate Larrentis Thomas (McDonough, Ga.) posted his second-straight double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Robert Armstrong (Norcross, Ga.) tallied 12 points off the bench. Senior Royal Thomas (LaGrange, Ga.) couldn't keep his double-digit scoring streak going, but had nine points and a game-high seven assists to just one turnover.

The free-throw line was once-again friendly to the Bobcats, as Georgia College scored nine more points from the line (20-11) and hit at 76.9 percent. The Bobcat bench out-scored FMU's 19-12, led by Armstrong.

The Patriots hit seven threes as a team, paced by three from Dustin Jones. Jones finished with 11 points, as FMU was led by Trevonte Dixon at 16. Evrik Gary, a top-five scorer in the conference coming in at over 20 points a game, was held to just 11 on 3-of-10 from the floor.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Dec. 7 at 3:30 p.m., traveling to Georgia Southwestern State University.
