MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. –
Junior Shanteona Keys (Roswell, Ga.) of the
Georgia College women's basketball team (12-3, 5-3 PBC) took
home the Bobcat Athlete of the Week award for the second time in as
many weeks, this time with two outstanding performances against
Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foes.
Keys began the week by notching 29 points in an overtime-road
loss at the University of North Georgia, and then followed that
with a career-high 33 points in a win against GRU Augusta. She
added 15 rebounds, four assists, and three steals to go along with
her 62 points in a pair of games that left the Bobcats at 5-3 in
the PBC and 12-3 overall.
Keys notched one of the best shooting weeks of her career, going
24-of-37 from the floor, 9-of-12 from the three-point line, and did
not miss a free throw in either game. She is currently ranked
10th in the PBC in points-per-game with 14.7 and is just
seven points away from the Bobcats' No. 13 all-time spot.
The Georgia College women's basketball team will be back
in action Wednesday, Jan. 22 when they host USC Aiken at 5:30
p.m.
