MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women's basketball (7-9, 3-6 PBC) took a tough loss from Flagler College (4-11, 2-7 PBC) Monday in the Centennial Center, 60-53.
The Bobcat women played a solid first half, with a two-point lead going into the half. Midway through the second half, the Bobcats found themselves up by 14 points, only to see the lead slip away at the hands of the Saints. Flagler shot 13-26 from the field, while the Bobcats only shot 9-27, after halftime.
Despite the loss, the women's basketball team found two of their seniors in double-digit scoring,
Enisha Donley (Loganville) and
Shanteona Keys (Roswell). Donley bounced back from her recent injury with her third 20-point performance of the season, along with five rebounds and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe. Keys ended her night with 16 points and six rebounds, adding a perfect 4-of-4 effort on the free-throw line.
Flagler College had some help from Alex Alford, DeAsha Campbell, and Teosha Ray; all of who ended with doubled-figures for the night to lead Flagler College. Campbell led in the points column for the Saints with 15, while shooting 7-of-18 from the floor.
The Bobcat women's basketball team will host their next contest Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1:30 p.m. against the University of Montevallo Falcons at the Centennial Center.
