MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women's basketball team (7-1) extended its winning streak to seven games in a row Thursday as they defeated Clark Atlanta University (1-6) for the second time this season.

The Bobcat women showed intensity on both ends right from the tip-off, as lockdown defense and efficient shooting spurred them to an early 10-0 lead. This momentum would be carried throughout the finish as they would hold the lead for the entire game.

Kadesha Gibbs (Claremont, North Carolina) once again led the team in scoring, as she rained in 20 points on 60 percent (9-15) shooting from the field.  The senior forward also snatched nine boards, bringing her season rebound total to 90 in just eight games.

In just her second game back from injury, junior LaRice Walker (Franklin) filled up the box score with 18 points and eight rebounds of her own. The guard kept the defense off balance, shooting 53 percent (8-15) while dishing out four assists.

Rounding out the double-digit scoring for the Bobcats was Mckenna Rushton (Gainesville). Rushton opened up the scoring with a corner three-pointer, the first of her trio from behind the arc. The senior finished the game with six rebounds to go along with 13 points.

Point guard Christina Thomas (Augusta), getting the start for the fifth time this season, ran the offense well, dishing out a game-high seven assists.

The Bobcat offense was highly efficient on the night, shooting 48.3 percent (28-58) from the field with seven of the 28 made baskets coming from beyond the three-point line. On the defensive end, they held the Panthers to just 33.9 percent  (20-59) shooting in the game.

The 20-point victory became the second over Clark Atlanta in as many weeks and extended Georgia College's winning streak to seven games.

The team will look to make it eight wins in a row, as they will host Belmont Abbey Saturday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in the Centennial Center.
