Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women's basketball team (11-9, 7-6 PBC) extended its winning streak to four, defeating GRU Augusta (5-15, 4-9 PBC), 64-58 Wednesday. The Bobcats had Enisha Donley (Loganville) and Shanteona Keys (Roswell) in double-digits for the contest.
Donley came one rebound short of a double-double for the night, ending the game with 20 points and nine rebounds. The 20-point performance marks her fourth of the season and 18th for her career. Donley shot 10-of-17 from the floor, while adding seven of her nine rebounds on the defensive end.
The other Bobcat to reach double-figures for Georgia College was Keys. She tallied 16 points and five rebounds for the game, making the effort her 19th double-digit performance for the season and her 87th for her Georgia College career. Belinda Schaafsma (Momernce) added six rebounds and went 2-of-3 from the floor, for the night. Her rebounding effort was good for second for the team.
The Bobcat defense held the Jaguars of GRU to a 31.6 shooting percentage (18-57) and 5-of-20 from beyond the three-point line. Georgia College trailed going into the half 37-31, shooting just 25 percent (1-4) from behind the arc. Coming out of the half, the Bobcats went on an 10-3 run to pull ahead with 14 minutes left in the contest. Georgia College would not look back, as they also went on an 11-5 run to close out the game.
The Jaguars were led by Camille Gee with 22 points for the contest. Gee had 14 of her 22 points in the first half, shooting 7-of-8 in the half. GRU's second leading scorer was Kayla Roberts with nine points for the night. The Jaguars edged the Bobcats in rebounding 36 to Georgia College's 32.
The Bobcats will hit the road, as they look to upset No. 11 Columbus State University, Saturday, Feb. 7, with tip-off at 1:30 p.m. Georgia College defeated the then-No. 17 Cougars 73-62 on Jan. 10.
