Box Score DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Pushing ahead thanks to a 20-9 second quarter, the Georgia College Women's Basketball team (2-0) cruised to a 76-49 win over Auburn University-Montgomery (1-4) Saturday in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC)/Conference Carolinas (CC) Crossover at the University of North Georgia.
Junior Alyah McGriff (Suwanee), one night removed from a buzzer-beating win, knocked down 10 of her 15 shot attempts, finishing with game-highs of 21 points and seven rebounds.
Senior guard Lindsey Reed (Stockbridge) provided some scoring punch as well, going 8-for-11 for 18 points, four assists, three boards and three steals. Classmate LaRice Walker (Franklin) ran the offense well, tallying nine assists with just three turnovers, and grabbing four rebounds. Junior Brianna Davis (Rockford, Illinois) led the bench brigade with eight points, her best effort thus far in her first season with Georgia College.
The Bobcats once again dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Warhawks 41-21. Georgia College also had a massive shooting advantage, hitting 51 percent (33-65) of its shots compared to just 28 percent (16-57) for AUM.
The last time GC Women's Basketball started 2-0 was the 2013-14 season, a year in which the Bobcats won their first 10 games of the year.
The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 5:30 p.m. traveling to Albany State University for more non-conference action.
