Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – It took until the second quarter for Georgia College Women's Basketball (7-1, 2-0 PBC) to really get rolling, but the rest of the way was smooth sailing, topping Flagler College (2-6, 0-2 PBC) 62-34 Monday afternoon at the Centennial Center.
Juniors Alyah McGriff (Suwanee) and Ta'Asia Wright (Denmark, South Carolina) powered the offense, McGriff tallying 20 points with Wright just a pair behind. McGriff pulled in 11 rebounds for her third career double-double, while Wright brought in eight boards.
For the second-straight game, the backcourt duo of LaRice Walker (Franklin) and Veronica Ryan (Clearwater, Florida) put up a nearly clean sheet, pairing for 11 assists with just one turnover. Walker finished with eight helps, yanking down nine boards as well.
The Bobcats trailed by five after the first, but dominated the middle two quarters, combining for a 45-13 score to take over the game.
Georgia College controlled all facets of the game, out-shooting Flagler 43 percent (25-57) to 20 percent (10-49) winning rebounds 46-30, assists 22-3, bench points 27-6 and points in the paint 34-10.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Dec. 31 on the road at Erskine College.
