The Bobcats struck first with a layup by senior Kadesha Gibbs (Claremont, North Carolina) in tonight's match against Lander, but would lose their early lead finishing the first quarter down 26-14.
In the second quarter, guard LaRice Walker (Franklin, Georgia) took the driver seat for the Bobcats offense, scoring 10 of the 15 points Georgia College knocked down. The Bobcats closed out the first half of play down 46-29 to the Bearcats, a deficit they would end up never surpassing.

Lander University out-played Georgia College tonight having three players score 18 points and not allowing Georgia College to bring in more than 19 points in a quarter. Lander hit half of its shots from the field (30-60), but the Bobcats won the battle on the glass 43-36. The turnover but bit the 'Cats, coughing it up 21 times and bringing in just 12 turnovers.
The game served as a trial run for the Bobcats for the upcoming Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament. Georgia College, the No. 4-seed in the West Division, will travel to East No. 1-seed Lander Saturday, Feb. 27 for PBC Quarterfinal action. The two teams met in last year's quarterfinals, a Bobcat victory.
