PEMBROKE, N.C. – Georgia College Men's Basketball (8-5, 2-2 PBC) avoided the snow and headed to Peach Belt Conference (PBC) competitor UNC Pembroke (10-4, 3-2 PBC) a day early for the annual match-up. The Bobcats had the game in hand, with a 12-point lead going into halftime, but the Braves capitalized on some Georgia College mistakes and gave the Blue and Green its second PBC loss of the season, 76-69.

Point guard Desmond Mitchell-LaFlam (New Smyrna Beach, Florida) was the Bobcat star of Friday afternoon. Coming off his career-best 17-point game against USC Aiken two days prior, the junior bested his record and netted 23 points for the Bobcats. He was perfect from the free throw line, shooting 4-for-4. He even grabbed seven rebounds and six assists.

Isaac Thomas (Trion, Georgia) topped the team in rebounds. The sophomore finished the game with 12 boards, one short of his career-best.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats bested the Braves with a 42.9 field goal percentage, compared to Pembroke's 40.7.

Next up, the Bobcats host Francis Marion University in the Centennial Center Monday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
