ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -  The Georgia College Women's Basketball team (15-9, 12-6 PBC) led early but couldn't complete a late comeback Monday, falling 64-52 at Flagler College (15-7, 13-5 PBC) in an evenly-matched Peach Belt Conference (PBC) showdown.

The Bobcats started off well, making the first two shots of the game for a 5-0 lead. Flagler would respond, evening things out early. The last Bobcat lead came at the 3:38 mark of the first quarter, as Erin Drynan (Chicago, Illinois) made good off a pass from Kenyatta Storms (Alpharetta, Georgia).

The lead stayed in single digits for much of the contest, with Georgia College even cutting it to a two-possession game on a couple of occasions, including at 56-50 with 4:26 remaining. Flagler would never surrender the lead.

Senior Alyah McGriff (Suwanee, Georgia) led the Bobcats with 13 points, while Drynan finished with 12. Junior Sydney Cleveland (Gainesville, Georgia) added 10 points to the cause, filling the boxscore with five assists and four rebounds. Storms didn't reach the scoring column, but contributed team-highs with eight boards and six assists.

The Bobcats actually out-shot the Saints 41 percent (24-58) to 39 percent (23-59) from the field, but Flagler got more possessions by controlling the rebounding numbers 45-31.

The loss drops Georgia College to 12-6 in PBC play, tied for fourth in the league standings. The top eight advance to the PBC Tournament Feb. 28, and the top four teams host first-round matchups.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 5:30 p.m., playing host to Columbus State University.
