Bobcat Men's Hoops Concludes Season with Loss at Francis Marion, 102-69

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Georgia College Men's Basketball team (11-17, 7-15 PBC) concluded its 2017-18 season with a 102-69 road loss to Francis Marion University (19-8, 14-8 PBC) Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats fell behind early and couldn't recover despite standout performances from senior Brice Booker (Atlanta, Georgia) as well as freshmen Justin Cave (Savannah, Georgia) and Jordan Thomas (Conyers, Georgia). Booker finished with 18 points, six rebounds and a pair of steals in his final game as a Bobcat. Cave put in a 15-point performance while also snagging six boards. Jordan Thomas led the Bobcats with a team-high 19 points on the night. 

Four of the Bobcats' five starters finished with double-digit point totals, as rookie Chapin Rierson (Calhoun, Georgia) finished the game with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting.

Georgia College finishes the year with the Peach Belt Conference's (PBC) ninth-best record, just one spot away from making the conference tournament.

The offensive juggernaut that is Francis Marion continued Saturday, as the Patriots shot 55.7 percent (34-61) from the field, and 83 percent (24-29) from the free-throw line.

Jordan Thomas led the Bobcats in scoring in his first season as a Bobcat, averaging 13.7 points per game. Isaac Thomas (Trion, Georgia) finished just behind Jordan Thomas with 12.9 points per contest. Isaac Thomas also led the Bobcats in rebounds with 9.0 per game.

Georgia College loses just one player to graduation, as Booker completes his collegiate basketball career. The senior scored 152 points this season, getting double-digit points on four occasions. His 18 tonight was a season-best.
