MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Women's Basketball team (4-12, 1-7 PBC) fell in a 59-40 contest to Georgia Southwestern State University (5-8, 1-6 PBC) Saturday at the Centennial Center.

The Hurricanes never trailed, getting a steal and lay-in by Tamecia Blue on the game's first possession. The Bobcats drew even at 5-5 with 6:06 left in the first on a put-back from Anaya Cone (Douglasville). GSW responded with a 10-2 run to put some space between the two teams.

The GSW defense stifled the Bobcats, as junior Kenyatta Storms (Alpharetta) led GC with eight points. Freshman Caroline Wysocki (Flowery Branch) had seven and Cone finished with six, both off the bench.

The Bobcats shot just 24 percent to 37 percent for GSW. Georgia College won the rebounding battle, 44-42.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 5:30 p.m., traveling to Francis Marion University (6-7, 2-5 PBC). The Patriots most recently beat Clayton State University at home today, 81-76.
