ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Georgia College Women's Basketball team (5-15, 2-10 PBC) came up short in a 72-56 matchup at Flagler College (5-13, 3-9 PBC) Saturday.
Sophomore guard Harper Vick (Marietta, Georgia) led all scorers with 21 points. The sophomore continued her torrid pace, hitting 7-for-18 from the floor, including 3-for-8 from three-point range. She also made good on all four of her free-throw attempts.
The Bobcats were out-shot 47 percent to 34 percent from the floor, and lost the rebounding battle 45-29. GC scored the first two points of the game, but Flagler responded with a 14-2 run to take over early. The Bobcats performed best in the third quarter, taking that frame by an 11-9 score.
The loss puts Georgia College at 2-10 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play, tied for 11th in the league standings. The top eight squads advance to the PBC Tournament March 4.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m., traveling to Columbus State University (14-4, 9-3 PBC). The Cougars most recently beat Augusta University on the road today 71-59.
