Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga. – Georgia College Women's Basketball (5-22, 2-17 PBC) took the fight to Augusta University (11-16, 8-11 PBC) on the road Saturday, the Bobcats closing their season with a 65-51 loss.
A big third quarter proved the difference, as Georgia College led at the end of the first quarter 16-10 and at halftime 29-28.
Sophomore guard Harper Vick (Marietta) led all scorers with 21 points, hitting 6-for-14 from the floor, including 2-for-6 from long range. She also made seven of her 12 free-throw attempts and led the team with three assists.
Junior Keyonna Wesley (Pearson) hit a pair of threes en route to 11 points and yanked down six boards. Senior Dail Adaway (Tifton) closed her career with a game-high 10 rebounds and two points.
The Bobcats controlled the first quarter, their advantage reaching its height of eight points at 16-8 with 17 seconds left in the initial frame. The Bobcats led for the first 12:32 of play.
The season has come to a close for GC Women's Hoops, a year welcoming a new head coach in Ross Jolly and featuring three on the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Team of Academic Distinction. The Bobcats got four of their five victories at home, including conference wins over Augusta and Flagler College.
