Box Score

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – After Georgia College Women's Basketball (1-5, 1-5 PBC) put up game high numbers in the fourth quarter they came up short on the road to No. 16 University of North Georgia (7-1, 4-1 PBC).

Junior Cassidy Markle (Cumming) led GC, scoring nine points hitting both of her attempts from behind the three-point line. Classmate Ashley Davis (Augusta) added an impressive five-point fourth quarter.

The Bobcats battled their first ranked opponent of the season Wednesday, and they were every bit as advertised. The Nighthawks are the No. 3 defense in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) and 10 GC shooters were able to find the basket, just none with enough frequency as the Bobcats were held without a double-digit scorer for the first time this season.

Each member of the active roster saw action in tonight's contest, as the Bobcat bench provided 23 points to the team's effort.

North Georgia got the first two points of the ballgame after a pair of offensive rebounds on the first possession. UNG started on a 9-2 run and never surrendered the advantage.

Georgia College Women's Basketball Team is back in action Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Clayton State University. Limited seating is available in Morrow, as CSU limits games to the first 100 fans.
