Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Georgia College Women's Basketball Team (1-12, 1-12 PBC) had trouble getting its offense on track, falling to defensive-minded Clayton State University (8-4, 8-4 PBC) 69-38 Saturday at the Centennial Center.
The Bobcats had two double digit scorers in junior Harper Vick (Marietta) and senior Keyonna Wesley (Pearson). Vick and Wesley put up 10 points apiece during today's action. Vick has had double-digit efforts in five of her last six ballgames. For Wesley, it was her seventh double-digit scoring game this year.
Junior Sadie Cleveland (Gainesville) provided a bit of a charge off the bench, knocking down a pair of threes to finish with six points.
The Bobcats hung with the Lakers in the first quarter, trailing just 14-12 at the first horn. Clayton State dominated the second frame, however 16-2 to get a comfortable advantage before halftime.
GC was out-shot 39 percent to 26 percent from the field. The Bobcats hung tight in the rebounding battle, getting edged 44-40. What hurt the Bobcats the most was Clayton's stingy defense causing 24 turnovers, a season-low for GC.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m., playing host to Columbus State University to wrap up the 2021 season. It will be Senior Day for the Bobcat Basketball programs.
