Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- Bobcat Women's Basketball (1-8, 1-8 PBC) came up short in a hard-fought road contest against Flagler College (4-5, 3-4 PBC) 60-58 Saturday.
Within the final two minutes of the game the Saints and the Bobcats exchanged the lead. Flagler was able to pull ahead with a layup at around a minute and a half to go. GC had a few opportunities late in the fourth to tie the game but weren't able to capitalize on a foul and some three-point opportunities.
Such a close game was possible by the offensive standouts in scorers Harper Vick (Marietta) and Keyonna Wesley (Pearson). Vick has been on fire this week, putting up 26 points today and 60 total over the two-game week. The Junior guard shot 62.5 percent from the three-point line knocking down 5 of her 8 attempts.
Wesley put up 12 points in the contest with half of those from three-point range. The senior guard had the second most rebounds for the Bobcats at eight. The only player with more boards was freshman forward Jada Warren (Norcross) with 10. The standout freshman made her presence known during the contest with a near double-double, adding eight points and a pair of blocked shots.
On the day GC out-produced the Saints in three-pointers made at 11-6. The Saints did their damage in the paint, doubling the Bobcats up close, 24-12
