AUGUSTA, Ga.- The Georgia College Women's Basketball team (1-9, 1-9 PBC) was dealt a hard road loss at Augusta University (4-3, 3-0 PBC), 56-43 Monday night.

The Bobcat offense got off to a slow start in the first quarter of play, only netting two points on a Macey Carson (Decatur) bucket. In the second quarter the offense started to fire up, out-scoring the Jaguars 12-10. After a close third, the fourth quarter was also a strong offensive quarter, out performing Augusta 20-14. 

GC had a lone double digit scorer tonight in senior guard Christen Copeland (Gainesville) with 10 points. Copeland played a total of 18 minutes and went 4-of-9 from long range, the best shooting performance in her career. The Bobcats put nine different players on the court tonight, with eight reaching the scoring column. 

Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week Harper Vick (Marietta) chipped in nine points, while Kenyatta Storms (Alpharetta) added seven. 

The Bobcat bench provided 16 of the 43 total points from tonight's game. GC also recorded more offensive rebounds than the Jaguars, 11-10. 

The Jaguars got a pair of free throws on their first possession, and never trailed in the contest. While the Bobcats caused more turnovers at 21-19, it was the Jaguars taking advantage of those miscues, posting a 26-15 advantage in points-off-turnovers. 

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1:30 p.m., playing host to Georgia Southwestern State University in the Centennial Center.
