SUMTER, S.C. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional run for Georgia College Men's Tennis came to a close Saturday.
At the start of the day, the Bobcats had two singles players and a doubles pairing still alive in the brackets.
No. 9-seed Karol Malirz (Marbella, Spain) fell in three to Sebastian Murillo in the round of 32. Murillo won 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.
Newcomer Gabriel Cizek (Dolní Břežany, Czech Republic) dropped a two-set matchup to No. 16-seed Francesco Bonacia of Tusculum University 6-4, 7-5 also in the round of 32.
Cizek and Malirz teamed for a round of 32 loss to No. 8-seed Rhodri Atkinson and Patrik Alvestrand of Lenoir-Rhyne University, 8-3.
The Bobcats return to action Oct. 1 at the Mercer Gridiron Classic in Macon, Georgia.
