AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Georgia College & State University Women's Cross Country team is set to toe the line for their first postseason action under head coach John Green, with a successful season full of races behind them.
The Bobcats have three top-10 finishes and two in the top five this season, posting a plethora of personal bests along the way. Each runner seems to be improving week by week.
The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship race will be held at Redcliffe Plantation in Beech Island, South Carolina, with the women's 5K race set for a 10:15 a.m. pistol.
The Bobcats finished fifth last season, buoyed by an All-PBC finish for returning runner Anna Agi (Brooks). Four of the five scoring finishes from last year's race return for GCSU this season. Agi will look to become the third multi-time all-conference runner in school history, joining Katherine Yost (2017) and Allison Lones (2012).
GCSU will send eight women's runners in this year's field. Agi, Jenny Goodwin (Fayetteville), Jillian Muncus (McDonough), Isabelle Cadeau (Cumming), Macy Sheley (Savannah), Brooke Mooney (Johns Creek) and newcomer Lorena Cazora (Rome, Italy).
