Vick Reaches 1000-Point Milestone in Loss to GSW, 60-37

PBC STANDINGS

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Georgia College Women's Basketball Team (8-15, 5-9 PBC) took a 60-37 home loss Saturday from Peach Belt Conference (PBC) leader Georgia Southwestern State University (21-3, 13-2 PBC), snapping the Bobcats' three-game winning streak. 

Veteran guard Harper Vick (Marietta) reached the 1,000 career points milestone in tonight's game making two free throws with around three minutes left in the first quarter. Vick netted seven points in the contest with five assists and three rebounds. She became the 18th member of the 1,000-point club in GC Women's Basketball history.

The leading scorers for the Bobcats were Anaya Cone (Douglasville) and Alexa Geary (Calhoun) with eight apiece. Cone had four rebounds to add to her boxscore. Geary not only led in scoring but she led in rebounds with eight. 

The next leading rebounder was freshman Savannah Casey (Canton) with seven. She also had three points and a blocked shot. 

Vick led the scoring effort in the first quarter with four. Cassidy Markle (Cumming) had the second most with three. Come the second quarter Geary netted three points to lead the charge. GC trailed 35-16 going into the half. 

Coming out of the half, the Bobcats scored a game high of 14 points, winning the quarter 14-11. 

The loss puts the Bobcats at 5-9 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play, tied for sixth in the league standings. The top eight qualify for the PBC Tournament in March.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 16 in the Centennial Center to take on No. 6 Lander University. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m. with live stats and video links available at GCBobcats.com.
