Bobcat Women Take Tough Loss at Flagler, 103-68

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The Georgia College Women's Basketball team (8-16, 5-12 PBC) took a 103-68 loss at Flagler College (12-15, 6-11 PBC) in a midweek contest Wednesday. 

The Bobcat offense had four double digit scorers in Harper Vick (Marietta, Georgia), Ashyia Willis (Gainesville, Georgia), Alexa Geary (Calhoun, Georgia) and Anaya Cone (Douglasville, Georgia)

Geary led the charge, netting 17 points and snagging her first career double-double by adding 10 rebounds. Vick was the second leading scorer banking 12 points, shooting 100% from the free-throw line. Willis and Cone both dropped 10 points apiece. P

The Bobcat offense dropped their second most points of the contest with 18 in the first quarter. Vick and Geary accounted for 14 of those points, netting seven apiece. The Bobcats only netted two less in the following quarter, knocking down 16. GC trailed going into the half 49-34. 

GC came back from the half scoring a game high of 19 points with Geary leading the scoring with seven. The fourth quarter came and went as the Bobcats scored 15 points Cierra Foster (Canton, Georgia) and Cone leading the scoring with four points a piece. GC went on to take the loss, 103-68. 

The Bobcats ran into an offensive buzzsaw in the Saints tonight, as they shot 57% from the field. Flagler also did a bit of run-and-gun, netting a 20-2 advantage in fast-break points. 

The loss puts the Bobcats at 5-12 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play, tied for eighth in the league standings. The top eight teams advance to the PBC Tournament, set to begin March 2.

The Bobcats are back in action in the Centennial Center Saturday, Feb. 26 for Homecoming against Columbus State University. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m. with live stats and broadcast links available at GCBobcats.com.
