Bobcat Women's Basketball Drops Road Matchup at USC Aiken, 80-63

AIKEN, S.C. – The Georgia College & State University Women's Basketball team (9-6, 1-4 PBC) got beat 80-63 at USC Aiken (10-5, 4-1 PBC) Wednesday night.

The Bobcats had a pair of double-digit scorers, getting 14 points from sophomore Ashyia Willis (Gainesville, Georgia)and 13 from senior Harper Vick (Marietta, Georgia). Vick also led the squad with four assists. 

GCSU started out to a 5-2 lead in the first 90 seconds. The Pacers responded, taking their first advantage two minutes into the contest, and would never surrender it. USCA went on an 11-2 run mid-way through the first quarter, and kept the foot on the gas pedal from there. 

The Bobcats were out-shot by a slim 41 percent to just 39 percent for the Bobcats, but the difference came from beyond the three-point arc, where the Pacers knocked down 11 shots to just a trio for GCSU. The Bobcats did good work in the paint however, out-scoring USCA 38-24.

Bobcat Women's Hoops is back in action at home Saturday, Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m., taking on No. 16 University of North Georgia for March of Dimes Day and Staff Council Day in the Centennial Center.
