VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Georgia College & State University Golf team closed out the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate Tuesday, finishing in 18th place.
The Bobcats posted rounds of 300, 298 and 312 for plus-46 score on the par-72, 7,367-yard Kinderlou Forest Golf Club course.
GCSU was led by senior Nathan Moore (Bristol, United Kingdom) once again. Moore fired rounds of 74, 75 and 77 for 10-over in 62nd place.
Second on the team and 68th overall in the field of 90 golfers was freshman Ty Darsey (Sandersville). He bookended a pair of 77s around a 74 for 12-over par.
Classmate Parker Houck (Monroe) came in next at 72st place, posting rounds of 74, 74 and 81 for plus-13.
Freshman Browning Benton (Macon) added a plus-14 finish after rounds of 78, 75 and 77, good for 76th. Rounding out the finishes for the Bobcats was junior Austin Quillian (Eatonton), owning a pair of 75s and an 87 for plus-21.
No. 3 Lee University won the team title at 15-under par, beating the field of 18 teams, including eight ranked in the GolfStat Top-25.
The Bobcats are back in action March 20-21, hosting the 2023 Bobcat Invitational at the Golf Club at Cuscowilla in Eatonton.
