Ross Jolly announced the addition of Keisha Gatling to the staff as an assistant coach.
"I am thrilled to add Keisha to our staff and program," said Jolly. "With her playing experience, she instantly provides a credible resource for our players. Most importantly, we will be adding another great person to our program."
After playing two seasons at Gulf Coast Community College, Gatling played the last two years collegiately at NCAA Division I's North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 66 games played (62 starts), Gatling averaged 13.4 points and 6.7 rebounds. During her senior campaign for the Wolfpack, Gatling averaged 17.4 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting 66.3 percent from the floor. Gatling, who graduated from N.C. State with her bachelor's degree in parks, recreation and tourism management, was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team and was an Associated Press All-America honorable mention selection in 2014. She was also named to the Wade Trophy watch list and was a Naismith Midseason Top 30 choice.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing program," said Gatling. "Coach Jolly has done a phenomenal job building up this program for the past couple years, and I can't wait to add my expertise to his incredible foundation. With my basketball experience, I know my impact will be felt immediately - both on and off the court. I'm excited to get things started."
After college, Gatling was the 10th pick in the Women's National Basketball Association's 2014 draft by the Chicago Sky. She played for the Sky for one season before playing two seasons for the Seattle Storm and one year by the Atlanta Dream.
After her WNBA career, Gatling played professionally overseas in Poland, Turkey, South Korea, Spain, Italy, France and Russia. She was named the MVP of the Spanish League in 2019 and her team won the Spanish Cup in 2023.
Gaitling also served as an assistant coach for the Carolina Flames EYBL team from 2018-22 and the head coach of the Carolina Elite program from 2022-23.
