AUSTIN, Texas | Georgia College & State University had six scholar-athletes -
Emily Agi,
Sarah King,
Chloe Markey,
Lily Markey,
Ava Martin and
Grace Phillips - named to the College Sports Communicators NCAA Divsion II Women's Soccer Academic All-District® Team.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and must be a have either played in 90 percent or started in 66 percent of their team's matches.
Agi, a sophomore defender from Brooks, Georgia, started all 18 matches she played. Agi, who played in 1,080 minutes this fall, helped the Bobcats record five shutouts this season. Agi has a 4.00 GPA as a mass communications major.
King, a junior midfielder from Stockbridge, Georgia, started 14 of the 19 matches she played. She scored three goals in her 897 minutes played in 2024, including two in the win over Albany State University. King has a 3.84 GPA as a political science major.
Chloe Markey, a senior defender from Alpharetta, Georgia, played 1,375 minutes in 2024, starting 16 of the 18 matches played.
Chloe Markey helped GCSU register five shutouts this season.
Chloe Markey has a 3.84 GPA as an economics major.
Lily Markey, a senior midfielder from Alpharetta, Georgia, started 13 of 19 matches played.
Lily Markey had one assist in her 1,166 minutes played this season.
Lily Markey has a 3.92 GPA as an exercise science major.
Martin, a junior forward from Gainesville, Georgia, started 13 of the 19 matches she played. Martin, who was named the Peach Belt Conference's Player of the Week earlier this season as well as being named to the All-PBC Tournament team, led the Bobcats with five goals and was second with 13 points. She also accounted for three assists in her 852 minutes of action. Martin has a 3.59 GPA as a nursing major.
Phillips, a graduate student midfielder from McDonough, Georgia, scored a goal and assisted on two others for four points this season for the Bobcats. She played in 774 minutes as she started seven of 19 matches played. She has a 3.80 GPA as a management information systems major.
The Bobcats completed the 2024 campaign with a 9-7-3 ledger and a fourth-place finish in the Peach Belt Conference.
