TEMPE, Ariz. | The Georgia College & State women's tennis team has been recognized as an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association while players

Shradha Chhabra,
Ashton Morrison and
Chiara Santoro were named Scholar-Athletes by the organization.
The Bobcats, who were one of 112 NCAA Division II institutions recognized by the ITA, had a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average as a team this year. To be named an All-Academic team, a program had to have a 3.20 GPA. It was the 11th consecutive year that GCSU has been named an All-Academic Team by the ITA.
Almagro, a sophomore from Marbella, Spain, posted a 3.79 GPA as an exercise science major, while Chhabra, a junior from New Delhi, India, had a 3.75 GPA as a psychology major with a criminal justice minor. Morrison, a senior from Cumming, Georgia, tallied a 4.00 GPA as a special education major, while Santoro, a junior from Santa Ursula, Spain, collected a 4.00 GPA as an exercise science major. It is the fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete honor for Morrison, while it is the third for both Chhabra and Santoro.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, the player must have a 3.50 GPA for the current academic year.
