SALISBURY, N.C. | Georgia College & State University scored twice in the final 15 minutes to rally for a 2-1 season-opening women's soccer victory over Chowan University Friday (Sept. 6) evening at Frock Field on the Catawba College campus.
The Bobcats improved to 1-0-0 and will return to action at 3 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 8) when they face No. 13 Catawba to close out the opening weekend. The Hawks fell to 0-1-0.
Abigail Simon gave Chowan a 1-0 lead as she converted a penalty kick at the 66:25 before the Amrozowicz sisters teamed up to tie the match at 1 less than nine minutes later.

Aralyn Everett at the 81:59 mark.
The Bobcats outshot the Hawks 23-13, including a 16-5 margin in the final 45 minutes. GCSU also held a 7-4 margin in corner kicks.
Ella Hayes tallied five saves in the Bobcat net, while
Kassidy Fortin got the win and turned away one shot.
