FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. | Georgia College & State University closed out their weekend at the Conference Challenge Classic with a 62-49 loss in a women's basketball matchup with Emmanuel (Ga.) University Saturday (Nov. 15) evening at the Shaw Athletic Center.
The Lions improved to 1-1 while the Bobcats fell to 0-2. GCSU returns to action when they host Southern Wesleyan University Wednesday (Nov. 19) in their first home game. This will be their 'Bleed Green' game and tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in the Centennial Center.
Emmanuel held the lead for majority of the game aside from three ties early in the first quarter. The Bobcats stayed within 10 points up until halfway through the third quarter, with Emmanuel extending the lead past 10 behind a pair of three-pointers from Natalee Goff.
Freshman guard
Caroline Beavin led the Bobcats with 17 points and Junior guard
Nylah Nuri added eight.
Bailey Vick,
Rose Bone and
DeJanae Dennis-Cassanova each finished with seven.
