MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University fell to Clayton State University 63-48 in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball matchup Wednesday (Dec. 3) evening at the Centennial Center.
The Lakers improved to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in Peach Belt play, while the Bobcats fell to 1-5 and 0-1. GCSU returns to action next Tuesday (Dec. 9) as they host Middle Georgia State University. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
Majority of the game had gone back and forth, with eight lead changes and eight tied scores. Both teams were tied at 38 at the start of the fourth quarter. Clayton State went on a 12-3 run and held the lead for the rest of the game.
Junior guard
Nylah Nuri led the Bobcats with 14 points.
Caroline Beavin followed with eight and
Elizabeth Wynn added seven.
Natalia Bolden led all rebounders with 11 boards, and Wynn chipped in 10 of her own.
