AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Peach Belt Conference has announced that Georgia College & State University's Tams Mullins has earned the league's Elite 18 Award for baseball.

The PBC Elite 18 Award, which is modeled after the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award (formerly known as the NCAA Elite 90 Award), is given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average at the championship.

Mullins, a junior left-handed pitcher from Jasper, Georgia, is the third Bobcat to earn an Elite 18 Award this season, joining volleyball's Lilly Swanson and men's basketball's Aidan Kudlas.  Mullins, who has a 4.00 cumulative GPA as an accounting major with a minor in finance, is the first Bobcat to earn an Elite 18 Award for baseball.

Mullins has made 14 appearances for the Bobcats, including two starts, He has registered 11 strikeouts in 15 innings.

The Bobcats return to action Friday (May 1) when they face Lander University in the first round of the PBC Tournament in Greenwood, South Carolina. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
