GREENWOOD, S.C. - In a
tightly-contested, physical affair, the Georgia College & State
University soccer team (5-4-2, 1-0-1 PBC) remained undefeated in
Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play, tying 0-0 at Lander University
(5-1-2, 1-1-1 PBC).
The Bobcats really stepped up play in the second half and
beyond, out-shooting Lander 9-4, but neither team could get the
game-winning strike.
Georgia College out-shot the Bearcats by a slim 15-12 margin,
gaining a 4-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
Junior goalkeeper Mary Rob Plunkett
(Augusta, Ga.) put away three shots for her first shutout
of the season, the fifth for the team. Plunkett now has 12 career
shutouts, owning the school record by three. Lander's Chelsea
Beetch made six saves in her shutout bid.
Bobcat senior Jamie Nevin (Grovetown,
Ga.) fired in the most shots with four, aided by three
from classmate Kara Teresi (Tampa,
Fla.).
The tie gives the Bobcats four points in the PBC Standings,
tying for fourth place with Lander.

returning home to take on North Georgia (4-3-1, 1-2 PBC). The
