MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Sophomore guard
Shanteona Keys (Roswell,
Ga.) of the Georgia College women's basketball team
(1-2) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending
Nov. 18.
Keys led the Bobcats to a 1-1 record at the Lady Saints Tip-Off
Classic, the weekend tournament in Dahlonega, Ga. where the Bobcats
played. In the two games she scored 45 points on 15-of-26 shooting
including 9-16 from behind the arc. Keys was also perfect on the
weekend from the charity stripe, going 6-of-6. In addition to her
scoring, she added 15 rebounds, four assists and five steals during
the two games.
Keys was recently named to the Preseason All-PBC team after
being named the 2011-12 PBC Freshman of the year.
The Bobcats will take on Clark Atlanta University Tuesday, Nov.
20 and then won't be back on the court until Saturday, Dec. 8
when they travel to Anderson (S.C.) for a double header with the
men's basketball team.
