Box Score GREENWOOD, S.C. – In a battle of two teams undefeated in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Georgia College volleyball (6-4, 2-1 PBC) fell in three sets at Lander University (11-2, 3-0 PBC) Friday night.
The Bearcats took the three sets 25-14, 25-19 and 25-17.
"Lander played really well tonight," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. They were ready to play. We are still learning how to play on the road. Tomorrow is a new day and we are looking forward to getting back on the court."
The Bobcat offense couldn't get going, hitting just .096 on the match, their second-lowest total of the season.
Junior Caroline Long (Roswell, Georgia) led the team with seven kills, helped by six each from Taylor Svehla (Cumming, Georgia), Ebony Powers (Jacksonville, Florida) and Maggie Roper (Buford, Georgia).
Freshman Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) led the team with 28 assists, while junior Miller Howard (Suwanee, Georgia) and sophomore Katie Ray (Cumming, Georgia) tied for the team lead with 12 digs.
The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m., traveling to USC Aiken.
