Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. – Getting a huge performance from junior Alyah McGriff (Suwanee) the Georgia College Women's Basketball team (4-0) dominated Clark Atlanta University (3-3) 79-53 Monday night on the road.
McGriff tallied career highs with 26 points and 14 rebounds, the second double-double of her career. She led three scorers in double-digits, as senior Lindsey Reed (Stockbridge) and junior Shay Tarver (Covington) netted 11 points each. Senior LaRice Walker (Franklin) added a well-balanced effort of eight points, eight assists and five rebounds.
Georgia College had two 20-plus quarters, scoring 26 in the fourth and 22 in the first. The Bobcats dominated the glass 52-34 and took advantage of Panther miscues with a 21-9 advantage in points off turnovers.
McGriff finished strong, getting 12 points and eight rebounds in the fourth quarter alone. The Bobcats improve to 9-0 all-time against the Panthers.
With her eight assists tonight, Walker tallies 311 in her career, passing GC Athletics Hall of Famer Sherita Ballard (1987-91) into sixth in school history.
Georgia College Women's Hoops is back in action Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. for the school's home opener in the Centennial Center against Tuskegee University.
